Travel to the seat of Christianity in Scotland, the Isle of Iona where St. Columba built Scotland’s first Abbey in the 500’s AD.
Day One: We view the amazing beauty of the West Highlands and stunning Glencoe, with its beautiful but tragic history. We stop for lunch in the magnificent setting of the Claighaig Inn at Glencoe. We then traverse the Great Glen, past Scotland’s highest mountain and finish our day travelling the scenic Appin Coast.
Overnight (two nights ) in the seaside village of Oban.
Day Two: All about island-hopping on the Hebridean islands of Mull, Iona, and culminating in a sea trip to the amazing Fingal’s Cave on the isle of Staffa.
Day Three: Our final day is spent visiting Kilmartin Glen and the ancient country of Dalriada, home of the Scoti tribe. Here we are immersed in hundreds of Iron Age tombs and standing stones. We can climb Dunaad Fort and step into the footsteps of Scotland’s first pagan kings!
